On the second lap it looked like Mason had the speed but James lifted and drifted wide blocking his blast up the outside of turn two, Mason continued to push but come the flag was unsuccessful.

After heat three it was still all square, but the Hitmen were about to draw first blood with a 5-1 advantage in the re-run of the heat four. Jordan Frampton the cause the stoppage after he lifted on turn two and ploughed straight into the fence destroying the front of his bike.

The next two heats were again drawn affairs leaving the Wildcats trailing by four points and still looking for their first heat advantage of the night. It didn’t come in the seventh though as the Hitmen struck out again with a second 5-1, Frampton trailing home in third looking off the pace on his spare bike. The onslaught did not let up in the eighth with another Hitmen 5-1, Dallaway and Roberts easily beating the Wildcats.

With the hosts now trailing by twelve points Chris Johnson emerged as a tactical ride in the ninth. Day took a tumble on lap two and with his team mate excluded the pressure was on Johnson but he wasn’t fazed and pulled off the win, the first Wildcats heat advantage of the night. Mason continued the tactical rides in the tenth taking double points for the Wildcats in a tapes to flag victory.
