After a big defeat at Stoke just nine days ago when the Wildcats lost 65-29, tonight brought the opportunity for them to take their revenge. Racking up an 18 point maximum David Mason led his team to a massive 60-33 victory, a performance that was backed up by the whole team, all of whom scored good points and battled hard throughout the meeting. The weakened Stoke teamís scoring was dominated by their reserves, Sam Dore and Gareth Isherwood scoring 18+1 and 7 points respectively. The remainder of the Stoke team managing only 8 points between them.

After the first four heats it was all square at twelve all. Weymouth pulled ahead in heat 5, a lead that they would retain all night; as a result of a bizarre refereeing decision. Adam Lowe fell coming out of turn two on lap one, on came the red lights as the leader started his second lap and to the crowds amazement the announcement that the race had been awarded, 5-1 to the Wildcats.

The Wildcats banged in two more maximums before Stoke made their first tactical move of the night. Sam Dore appearing from the pits donning the black and white hat and taking a tapes to flag victory in heat eight but with the Wildcats packing in to second and third he made only a small dent in the hosts lead.

Dore also appeared in both of the next heats as did home skipper Mason, who took wins over the Stoke reserve on both occasions but that was only after some hard racing for two laps in heat 10.

Following the interval that saw a childrenís penalty competition with Mason between the sticks keeping the ball out, the Wildcats turned up the heat even more. Piling in the points with four maximums in the last five heats, Heat 12 seeing the visitors scoring only their fourth heat advantage of the night after the unlucky Meakins retired with bike problems

Stoke failed to track two riders in both heats 13 and 14. Sam Dore tangled with Jordan Frampton in the first turn and failed to re-emerge from the pits for the restart of the final race leaving Mason and Frampton to cruise home well ahead of Lowe the sole remaining Stoke rider.
